Happy Holidays!! (aka - Wow, we made it through the year!)

Season's Greetings

(To be fair, winter is a season...but I also wish it was summer)

It’s our 15th (and possibly last?!?) year in California. Todd is still flying for Delta. Kelly is working far fewer swim meets and volunteering at the animal shelter. Amanda is a full-time zookeeper in Florida. Julia and Allison are continuing to enjoy the PNW life in Washington (“It’s not rain, it’s a rejuvenating mist.”) Matthew is living the college dream with 3 roommates in a 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment in Fullerton. We took a few trips, hiked some mountains, and survived a few fires that got a bit too close this past year.

Amanda – Zookeeper at the Palm Beach Zoo

Has frequent run-ins with Iguanas, sometimes in traffic and sometimes in trees.

Is the proud owner of a full-sized crowbar.

Calls daily so we can listen to her yell at Florida drivers on her commute home from work.

Fights with middle school boys twice a week (she has resumed her Tae Kwon Do training).

Julia – Registered Nurse

“Tackle Pile” – Julia’s new football term for everyone trying to dive on a loose ball.

Locked in a battle with Monty to see who can stay in bed the longest. Still unclear who the winner is…

Should be banned from buying any new tea until she finishes at least one of the 15+ varieties of tea she already has.

Allison – Microbiology scientist with the State of Washington

“Holding it with a grain of rice” – Allison’s version of “taking it with a grain of salt.”

Currently leading mom in the tattoo contest 4-3. Julia is lagging behind with 2.

Still happily playing with potentially dangerous bacteria like a mad scientist.

Matthew – College Junior, CSU-Fullerton

Has decided that “Stoners” should now be called “Weeders” when he forgot the term while describing his neighbors.

Ask him how he explains to incredulous (US citizen) parents that 40 inches is not 4 feet at his Anaheim waterpark job.

Frequently shares his “lumber company bangers” he sees on a billboard on his way to work (e.g. “My wife says I don’t pay attention, or something like that.”)

Happy Holidays – Happy New Year!!

Todd, Kelly, Amanda, Julia, Allison, and Matthew
