Birthdays, Visitors, and First Communion

It's been a wild week in Georgia! First, we had Julia celebrating her 8th birthday. She started her celebration by getting off the school bus and .... going to the dentist. But, after that, Dad pulled in the driveway with "The Grandma Irmas". Yes, both Grandma Irma AND Great-Grandma Irma came to visit us!!! We had birthday cake, presents, and stayed up too late. We had a visit from Great Grandma Irma's brother Bob and wife Rita who live in nearby Kennewsaw, and that was really fun. A few days later, we celebrated ANOTHER birthday. This time, Amanda hit double-digits (10) and now refers to herself as a "tweener". And, she also learned that a second cousin was born on her birthday (welcome to Ava - daughter of dad's cousin Drew and Susan in South Carolina!!!) What a neat birthday present! Anyway, we had MORE cake and more presents and stayed up late again. Then, today, we celebrated Julia's First Communion. It was a fun day. And, in a shocking move (especially since she previously adamantly declared she would NOT take the wine) ... she did, in fact, receive the wine. She also declared that she would not be doing THAT again. The lemonade at the reception afterwards was much more agreeable to her.

So, attached are a few pictures of the week. Next week, the Grandma Irmas have to leave and we get to start demolishing our kitchen. It ought to be interesting....
